About the Waiting Room

We are all aware of the various differences among cultures – language and tradition being the most obvious – but there is perhaps nothing more universal than the emotional roller coaster that accompanies caring for a loved one in distress.

Qatari filmmaker Hend Fakhroo explores this commonality in the moving story of two young women, each looking after a parent in intensive care, who forge a connection while they wait for developments in the suspended time so particular to the hospital environment.
